  1. Super Meat Boy 106 Save File In Word
Super Meat Boy is a phenomenally popular indie game on PC, Mac, Linux and consoles. The game also happens to be incredibly challenging; the levels look easy on first glance, but actually finishing each one requires a lot of practice and muscle memory tuning, which takes a long time at a stretch.
Of course with a game like this, when you get a new computer and re-download the game from Steam, you will want to transfer your saved game from your old computer rather than play the whole game again. For some reason, Team Meat didn't enable Steam Cloud for this game, although the save files are cross-platform compatible.

Things to keep in mind

  • Yes, you can transfer the save folder between Windows and OS X!
  • I couldn't get the replays from Windows to work on Mac. Besides, when I tried to save replays on Mac, they wouldn't show in the replay menu. For me, it's not that big of a deal, but if you care about the replays, they don't seem to work, although you may still be able to play them on a Windows machine later.
  • Every other aspect of the save file seems to transfer over well cross-platform. All your levels will be there; additionally, you will not lose your bandages, 'A+'s and most probably your unlocked characters. If you are transferring over the same platform, things should work out even better, I suppose.
  • This guide was written for the Steam version of the game on both Windows and Mac. I am certain that if you have purchased the game from the Humble Indie Bundle and downloaded a DRM-free copy, the instructions should be similar, although the file directories may be different. Check the AppData folder on Windows instead of the Steam folder in Program Files on Windows for the UserData folder, for instance.
Of course, you will want to download a copy of Super Meat Boy from Steam onto the new computer.
