Super Meat Boy Forever. After being presumably defeated in Meat Boy's first adventure, Dr. Fetus is said to make a return in Super Meat Boy Forever, presumably having the same role as well. In the trailer for the game, he is seen kidnapping Nugget, Meat Boy and Bandage Girl's 'little bundle of joy'.

Brownie is a boss added in Afterbirth that can be found in all environments of chapter 3. It is a corny poop-related form of Dingle, but Brownie is far bigger than him and when beaten, he transforms into Dangle, a corny variant of Dingle. He could be related to Dingle in a way similar to Pin and Scolex.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

  • Brownie counters damage by spawning Brownie Corns.
    • He may crush these Brownie Corns while moving, regaining some health.
  • He twirls, jumps, and dashes around leaving behind brown creep and tossing corny shots everywhere.
  • He can leave behind Corn Mines.
    • The Corn Mines' corn shots and gas can damage and poison Brownie.
    • While poisoned, he will leave damaging green creep instead of brown creep.
  • When his first form is destroyed, he reappears as Dangle with very low maximum health.

Champion versions[edit | edit source]

  • Black: Spawns up to 3 Chargers at once instead of Brownie Corns and creates black creep instead of Brown Creep. Brownie will still leave Green Creep when poisoned. Upon death, spawns 2 Dank Squirts.
    • During the DLC's release, it was able to spawn up to 11 Drowned Chargers at once instead of Chargers, at a higher rate. It was nerfed in an update shortly after since the damage from the large amounts of Drowned Chargers was unavoidable.

Gallery[edit | edit source]

  • Brownie as one of Delirium's forms.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Brownie may be paired along with regular Dips in a boss room.
  • If a Butt Bomb goes off in the same room as Brownie, it will heal him.
    • Butt Bomb effect on Dr. Fetus or Epic Fetus does not heal Brownie.
  • If you activate Flush! in this fight, Brownie will drain along with any Brownie Corns into the ground, and be immediately defeated.
  • If Brownie is inflicted by any Effect it will leave a Creep with that same effect E.g. Spider Bite will give it a white creep if it's affected.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Brownie is the name of a character and boss in Super Meat Boy, a game by Edmund McMillen (the creator of Binding of Isaac).
  • Brownie is one of the three bosses who spawns Brownie Corns. The other two are Dangle and the Turdlings.
  • In the versus screen, there is a smiling face next to Brownie's name. Brownie is one of the two bosses in the game that has a unique icon in its versus screen name; the other one is Mom.
  • The Black Champion Version of Brownie acts slightly similar to the Dank Squirt and may, therefore, be a 'dank' or meconium version of Brownie.

Bug[edit | edit source]

Bug! Rarely, Brownie will slide around the room incredibly quickly, resulting in unavoidable damage.

Super Meat Boy Game

Super Meat Boy Forever is an upcoming independent video game developed by Team Meat for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows and Linux. Originally planned as a mobile-only version of Super Meat Boy,[2]Super Meat Boy Forever was gradually developed into a full-fledged sequel featuring a new control scheme and randomly generated levels.[3]

Gameplay[edit]

Super Meat Boy Forever expands on Super Meat Boy's challenging gameplay, as well as the main villain Dr. Fetus. Meat Boy and Bandage Girl's child Nugget has been kidnapped by Dr. Fetus and the couple must work together to rescue her. Both characters can kick and punch enemies and must avoid deadly obstacles to save Nugget. The control scheme uses two buttons.[4] Levels are randomly generated based on the player's skill level using premade 'chunks' created by the designers.[5]

Development[edit]

Development for Super Meat Boy Forever was announced in 2014 as mobile-only sequel to the original Super Meat Boy. Team Meat founders Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes originally teased the project as a 'live action stealth game' called A Voyeur for September, but this was later revealed to be an anagram for Super Meat Boy Forever.[2] After a few years of little to no public updates, Edmund McMillen left Team Meat and began focusing on other intellectual property such as The Binding of Isaac and The End Is Nigh. Refenes said to not 'hold your breath' expecting McMillen to come back after Super Meat Boy Forever is released.[6]

In 2017, Refenes restarted the project as full-fledged sequel and several new team members joined Team Meat to help with development. Among the new team members were Kyle Pulver (Offspring Fling, Snapshot), and Temmie Chang who worked on the art for Undertale.[6] Ridiculon, who composed the music for the PlayStation 4 version of Super Meat Boy, returned to compose the sequel's soundtrack.[7] Refenes explains that even though the game is still coming to mobile, this version was developed primarily as a console game.[4] The new version of Super Meat Boy Forever was revealed at PAX Prime 2017. The game was championed by Nintendo during their Nindies Summer 2017 Showcase,[8] and the PAX demo of the game was well received by the media.[4] The game was scheduled for an April 2019 release[9], but was pushed back to a later date on consoles with a late 2020 release for Steam.[10]
